Tyrese Proctor Shines for Duke in Tournament loss.. Healy and Spurgin go off for SUU
March 19th 2023
More post season action, with Aussies in play in the NCAA tournament as well as the NIT and CBI. Other big news dropping is the entry of Tassie Guard Taran Armstrong into the transfer portal, after making the all WAC second team with CBU. UTSA Forward Lachlan Bofinger has also entered the transfer portal with 6 of his teammates as the UTSA program falls apart. Their Coach seems to have lost the locker room and a mass exodus is resulting including multiple starters and leading scorers. This not the post season action…
Duke
Duke faced the Tennessee Volunteers in a second round match up Saturday, that felt more like a final four game than a round of 32. The Blue Devils couldn’t match the shooting of Tenn who ended up shooting 40% from the field and 42% from three, and continually went above the rim for highlight dunks. Duke ended up losing 65-53 but not before Tyrese Proctor put the team on his back for the second half and did his best to carry them to a win. The Sydney Freshman ended up top scoring for the Blue Devils with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 6 dimes and 2 swipes. This performance showed his poise and maturity, and had many saying he is the most likely to succeed at the NBA level of all the talented Duke Freshman. Although the consensus is another year at Duke could help his growth and move his draft pick spot into lottery territory. It remains to be seen what Tyrese decisdes, but the good news for us is we either get another year of Duke or another Aussie NBA player next year…
